"But unlike Harvard or Yale, Northwestern or Southern Cal, all former Christian universities that are now secular schools, Notre Dame has the weapon to combat all heresies; namely Notre Dame herself. The modernists may have their day, but like the song says, Notre Dame will win over all. For the modern infidels to take control here, they would have to blow our Dame off the Dome, rip the heart [the Eucharist] out of Sacred Heart [Church] and lastly, rock by rock, tear the Grotto apart. And legions of her sons and daughters would willingly die martyrs before they would allow that to happen."

Dear Friends in Christ,

I suppose, in one sense, we failed. The P.O.P.E. Project did not "Prevent Obama from Proclaiming Evil" at Notre Dame, for except for four courageous protestors, the deadly president's clever, snappy speech went off without a hitch, and when he said his bit on abortion and embryonic stem cell research, as always sounding (to the untrained heart) so reasonable, there was no real Catholic speaker there to dispute him, to temper Barack's praise and applause.

But in God's eyes, we gave our best, and thus succeeded in "the Greatest" (see 1 Corinthians 13:13) way of all. We showed that there are many Irish still fightin' for life, and we give thanks to all who joined us in this glorious crusade of faith, a war even Obama conceded is not over.

Although we will not be updating this site now that the event has passed, we ask you to join us at Fighting Irish Thomas (where I place my personal essays concerning all matters of the Faith). 'Til we meet again ...

God's grace & Mary's prayers,
